Dear Drake Parents & Students,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year. We are looking forward to an awesome year! We have so many new and exciting programs and projects that will enhance our school, provide volunteer and educational opportunities for parents, promote school pride, as well as improve student achievement. Drake Elementary School is the proud recipient of the Sustainable Community Schools $500,000 grant (for a second year) and will partner with the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization to provide additional programming, resources and opportunities for our entire community. More information will be provided in the upcoming weeks. Team Drake is on the move and we are ready to “Unleash the Dragon while we are Blazing a Pathway to Success”!
Drake needs all parents to partner with us for student success. We are requesting your support at upcoming Drake events and programs that will enhance academic achievement and develop our leaders of tomorrow. In order to ensure that Drake School provides quality instruction, we will conduct classroom observations daily and will not be available for impromptu parent conferences. We ask that you support our vision and our decision to prioritize learning. In the event that you need to meet with Administration, please contact the school to request a meeting date and time and complete the Meeting Request Form. We understand that emergencies do arise and we will address them on a case by case basis. I ask that you respect our decision to put student learning first.
If you have any questions, please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school.
This year we want to ensure that Drake Elementary School is a place where you feel welcomed, needed and respected. We will have several opportunities for parents to volunteer and support the school
